About Stella
We all want to create something great one day… It all began not so long ago, to be precise, in April 2022, right here in Colorado, when Gherman, our founder and Boulder resident, noticed something missing in the interior design market—quality materials that didn't break the bank and could still do the job of being both durable and sophisticated.
You know, typical American housing leaves much to desired both from aesthetic and practical perspectives. It's no secret that many cottages in the United States are built of plywood and boards with insulation between them. Inside the walls are covered with gypsum board and covered with textured plaster, replacing wallpaper. Undoubtedly, such housing is cheaper, it is safer during hurricanes and earthquakes, and construction takes a little time. However, frame plywood cottages cannot be called durable at all. Their average service life is only 30 to 40 years. Another unpleasant factor is high audibility and poor noise insulation. Most Americans living in inexpensive housing, are aware of all the vicissitudes of neighbors, because they are perfectly audible not only family quarrels, but also just talk.
Our Story
Why did we decide to start Stella?
The idea sparked when Gherman, frustrated by the lack of accessible, high-quality building materials, decided to step up and fill that gap. With a passion for design and a love for the local community, he created Stella to make home improvements easier for Coloradans and Americans alike. At Stella, we believe that creating beautiful spaces should be easy, affordable, and enjoyable for everyone.
Why building materials, you ask?
Well, we wanted to focus on something that could truly transform spaces without all the hassle. Our star products—Acoustic Slat Wall panels, Slat panels, Baseboards, and Classic panels—are designed with both style and practicality in mind. All of them are made from MDF, a perfect choice for dry climate of Western States such as Colorado, Utah, Kansas, Nebraska etc. and wrapped in a German-engineered film that’s durable, water-resistant, and fingerprint-proof as well. Our true desire, in addition to money making, is to help people, to solve a very pressing problem. There is a lot of noise in the life of a modern citizen: from notifications on the phone to the sounds of cars rushing by. It leads to chronic stress, insomnia and even cardiovascular diseases. To get back to a peaceful state of mind, it's important to spend some quiet time at least once in a while. Your home is a perfect place to do just that.
How did we grow?
Stella began as a small, locally owned business with a simple goal: offer people a straightforward way to upgrade their interiors. Starting with just Gherman and a small team, we operated out of our warehouse in Broomfield and built our online store. Over time, our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction helped us scale up. Today, we proudly serve customers across all the US.
